Title: Cornell Fitness Centers (CFC) Program Coordinator for Facilities Location: Ithaca Other Locations: null Day-to-day operations of all five fitness centers including supervision of over 200 part time staff, cleaning of equipment, maintenance of all front desk equipment and some site equipment (computers, card swipes, music, fans, blinds and office supplies and first aid supplies). Direct supervision, mentoring and scheduling of five student coordinators who assist in daily monitoring of all five fitness centers. Direct supervision, mentoring and scheduling for over 200 part time student employees who monitor the daily activity in all five fitness center locations on the Cornell campus. Will be required to use the When To Work scheduling program to produce all intercession and regular semester work schedules for all Cornell Fitness Centers student staff. Oversees the formation and execution of safety, cleaning practices, and updates all training materials and policy manuals pertaining to the five centers. Oversees all student employee discipline issues and administers all probations and terminations as necessary. Coordinates the card swipe access database using BASIS system for all secured access points at the sites. Supervises the Cornell Card Access database access and reviews proper usage of this program daily via the manager's access. Supervises the Helen Newman Hall issue room staff after 2pm weekdays and all day on weekends. Revises all policies for the HNH issue room, communicates special events information to this staff and oversees the security cameras and system for HNH. Responsible for all lost and found items including cataloguing and turning these into Cornell police on a daily basis. Serves as the professional on call for after hours and weekend issues. Reviews and updates training class materials for some training classes. Assists in hiring, training, evaluating and coaching over 200 part time student employees including five student coordinators specifically dedicated to monitoring the fitness locations. Assists in monitoring the fitness equipment and reports maintenance issues to the proper staff member. Assists in reviewing equipment for purchase. Assists in teaching the First-Aid, CPR and AED courses which certify staff. Assists in teaching student staff training courses throughout the year. Requirements: Bachelor's degree plus two years professional experience working in a Campus Recreation department within collegiate setting of equivalent size to Cornell, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current American Red Cross First-aid, CPR and AED certification. Must have supervisory skills, hiring and evaluating employees and experience supervising a fitness center and equipment issue operations. Experience teaching courses and demonstrated customer service skills. Computer knowledge of MS Office, website development and management and database management programs. First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor certification required within the first six months of employment. Background check may be required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred: Masters degree in sports management, physical education, recreation, or leisure services. Experience working with a large and diverse membership in campus recreation setting. Prefer a strong working knowledge of the When To Work staff scheduling program. Certified personal training experience.
